Mia Steingräber is an amazingly talented art illustrator from Germany and two-time winner of the German „Phantastik-Preis“ who from now on will draw responsible for the Wienerland Character Artwork. She already worked as an illustrator for role play games like "Das schwarze Auge" and "Shadowrun" and we’re really happy to have her on our team.

Sie arbeitete bereits als Illustratorin für Rollenspiele wie "Das schwarze Auge" und "Shadowrun" und wird nun auch unseren Figuren Farbe und Leben einhauchen.

The "Kostümhaus" in Vienna made a big sale recently. Of course we seized the opportunity and helped clean it out. Our office is now stuffed with numerous coats, jackets, fancy tops, unusual pants, worn-out shoes and all kinds of hats from many years of movie and theater history. We can hardly get through the door any more, but it was worth it! The preparations for a styling test and the first photo shoot of the already casted characters are in full swing!

Vor Kurzem fand im Wiener "Kostümhaus" ein großer Abverkauf statt. Wir ließen uns diese Gelegenheit nicht entgehen und halfen brav beim Leerräumen. Nun stapeln sich zahlreiche Mäntel, Jacken, ausgefallene Oberteile, originelle Hosen, abgetragene Schuhe und die verschiedensten Kopfbedeckungen aus vielen Jahren Film- und Bühnengeschichte in unserem Büro. Wir kommen zwar kaum noch bei der Tür hinein aber es hat sich gelohnt! Die Vorbereitungen für einen Stylingtest und das erste Fotoshooting der bereits gecasteten Charaktere laufen auf Hochtouren!

Losing our planned location was bad, but we didn't let it get to us (at least not too much) and finally found a new one! The new location is simply great: It offers us lots of different possibilities and inspires us to keep on working hard on our series.

We are so incredibly proud to introduce our new concept artist - Mr. David Johnson from Missoula, USA. He is an amazing illustrator who will create our landscapes and posters and thus contribute enormously to how our world is going to look and feel.

WIENERLAND allows us to explore the fascinating world of conlanging. A "constructed language" is a language, that was built for a certain purpose and stands in contrast with natural languages. Conlangs have their own working grammar, vocabulary and special phonological characteristics. You probably know such languages from Tolkien's Middle Earth and Game of Thrones (Dothraki, Valyrian). And because we're so massively lost in our world, we of course also create our own letters and writing system.

We managed to win an amazing artist over to creating WIENERLAND with us: Christof "Cros" Dertschei will from now on draw responsible for our logo design and visual effects. Our almost 200 Pages long creative compendium is now printed and ready to use. It contains mood studies, character stills and lots of interesting art work which we'll use as a mnemonic device just for our team to get the look and feel of our story right. It kind of sets the standards for the whole project. Really important thingy!

Das knapp 200 Seiten starke Creative Compendium liegt nun vollendet vor uns. Es beinhaltet Mood-Studien für unsere Welt, die Charaktere und Schauplätze. Das Creative Compendium verkörpert eine Art internen Style-Guide und setzt somit die Richtlinien für die gesamte Produktion fest.
